Zahra was first inspired by Middle Eastern dance in 2017 when she had the opportunity to watch a dancer named Sadie perform a magical and empowering solo. Zahra knew immediately she needed to explore this artform for herself. The music was especially meaningful because of her years of her music study in jazz and music theory. As a lifelong painter and graphic designer, belly dance became a perfect fit in her lifestyle. Zahra's lifelong goal is to continue her education in the study of Middle Eastern culture, and its connection to performance art. Zahra is a talented dancer who performed in several community events. She has taken intensives with superstars including Sadie Marquardt, Deb Rubin, and more. As a performer, Zahra plays active roles in Navah Mirage productions throughout the Midwest.
For Dreamscapes, Zahra has helped with creating graphics and images for the show.

I began belly dancing when I took my first class at the local community center in my junior year of highschool in De Pere and fell in love. Before that I had tried jazz and tap but never had the same spark as belly dancing had for me. I started watching videos on YouTube and practiced whenever I could at home in the coming years. Later I took classes with Tamarind Tribal during my time in Milwaukee for school, and learned much more about the traditions and dove more deeply into the technique of this dance form during the four years that I lived there. I also took classes through Datura Online and rented videos from World dance New York to explore more styles. I found Navah Mirage when I moved back home to the Green Bay area and took classes as soon as I could! I am still exploring new concepts in belly dance as well as other dance forms, anything that inspires!

Esmeray is a dancer new to the art form of dance. A life long admiration for dance and the movement arts recently led to taking as many lessons as possible to earn a spot with Navah Mirage. She looks forward to continuing to learn as much as possible, performing with the group and giving back to the community!
Kristin has been dancing since the age of three. She’s performed at Disney World Orlando Florida as well as on a dance team for an NBA Basketball Team. Though, as soon as she found belly dance, she knew she found her dance love of a lifetime. Kristin has been a professional belly dancer for over 10 years, and she cannot wait for you to experience the Dreamscapes show!
Something that sets Navah Mirage belly troupe dancers apart is commitment to continuing education in our unique areas of interest. This allows us to offer some of the finest instruction and performances available. Our dancers have worked very hard and hold certifications in specific dance and fitness programs. This supports our students in wellness and long-term health through their self-discovery in movement.
Troupe members who have a desire to build leadership skills are provided opportunities to develop those skills. One way we do this is by cultivating students' areas of study, providing performance opportunities, and creating specialty opportunities. In turn, together we create affiliate teams led by qualified individuals. This allows Navah Mirage a unique and bountiful variety of skill sets to offer the public for entertainment as well as cultivate community and personal growth.
Mirage Fusionistas, a sister troupe to Navah Mirage, is dedicated to high quality original and beautiful choreography, and outstanding fusion belly dance performance art. It is our mission to be true to our art, true to ourselves and true to our amazing community of dancers, musicians, friends and fans.
